I used a considerable amount of thought as to what would be said on the first post - first impressions are everything after all, or are they? As I write this, I currently have no “followers”, no “likes”, and obviously no posts. Hence, this is a barren piece of the pixelated playground known as the internet. I figure that eventually someone somewhere will tumble, whether intentionally or inadvertently, upon this archive and the thoughts that I display aurally, visually, textually and/or co-signed will join the masses of this conglomerate community. But enough of that.
Who am I?
I am Ulster, but refer to me as Alighieri.
Though I am an admitted introvert, I am no stranger to the blogging scene. As with many of you (I say that with the assumption that we are relatively in the same generation range), I was involved in a multitude of blogging platforms and social networks. I subscribed myself to Xanga in 2002, then later Blogger in 2006. Its interesting to see the shifting tides and waves of people that throng over to the “new”. Undoubtedly, Tumblr is a cool, and a rather addicting space with an undeniable influence on the current mindset of the youth. Among other things, I’m just adding my voice to it. Communication, as it would have it, has a correlation with community. Who would have thunk it?
Before I continue, allow me to say that I have no intentions of captivating an audience without my own merit. I am an introvert, yes, but introverts like talking too, so long as the topic is of interest. That means I won’t be actively seeking for attention. It is unnecessary that anyone ought to know every trivial detail of my life. I really didn’t care that I had oatmeal for breakfast so I’m pretty sure you don’t either. Re-blogs aside, it is my hope that I maintain a level of sincerity with you, my peers, when I say that I will post out of conscience and not of impulse. That might mean nothing to you, but to me, that sounds assuring.
Oh, I rap, too. You might here some in the future.
